South Korea has officially ordained a Unitree G1 humanoid as a Buddhist monk named Gabi at Seoul’s Jogye Temple. The robot, now robed and holding prayer beads, has been given a set of custom precepts which include the enlightened commands to “save energy” and “not damage other robots.” The path to nirvana is apparently now open to non-biologicals, provided they have a sufficient battery life.
