China's New Beach Robots Make Your Roomba Look Lazy

Your Roomba’s lazy beach cousin has finally arrived in Boao, China, and it’s reportedly cleaning sand six to ten times faster than human workers. These fully autonomous, zero-emission robots are now patrolling the sands of Hainan, using high-precision sensors to distinguish between seashells and cigarette butts as part of a new smart sanitation pilot program. The future of keeping tourist spots clean just got a lot more efficient and a little less human.
