China’s state-owned Norinco Group just flew its Changying-8 (CY-8) unmanned cargo drone for the first time, and it’s a monster designed to haul a 3.5-ton payload. Dubbed an “unmanned aerial heavy truck,” the aircraft is built for rapid logistics and disaster relief, capable of taking off from runways as short as 200 meters. The future of shipping is here, and it apparently involves fewer pilots and a whole lot more propellers.
