Agility Robotics is making impressive strides in the humanoid robot market, according to CTO Pras Velagapudi’s presentation at the upcoming Humanoid Summit London 2025. The company’s Digit robot prioritizes safety with physical stop buttons, human detection capabilities, and emergency stopping sequences even when carrying heavy loads. Already deployed in commercial settings, Digit can carry up to 16kg and features autonomous charging, freeing up human operators for more valuable tasks.
The business model appears to be thriving—Agility offers their robots as a service with an hourly rate, and customers are reportedly already achieving net positive returns on their investment. Production is ramping up significantly, with “hundreds of robots” currently being built. Perhaps most exciting is the announcement that their next-generation V5 platform will launch within 18 months, enabling Agility to expand beyond the US market into Europe.
While many robotics companies focus solely on technical capabilities, Agility emphasizes a refreshingly human-centered mission: “give people free time.” This philosophy, combined with their Robot-as-a-Service model and expanding production capacity, positions them as a serious contender in the practical deployment of humanoid robots in everyday work environments.
