A GPTs are essentially mini agents, personae, and they seem to be the first signs of the widespread adoption of Software 2.0, which is why I’m creating a dedicated page for them.
GPTs are essentially a low-code, even Software 2.0 platform. For instance, I built an app through conversation that can do the following on the OpenAI site:
- Determines the questioner’s language based on the language of the inquiry and makes a guess about their location if none is specified.
- Interprets questions presented in free-text format.
- Automatically queries multiple online sources for weather information in the background.
- Summarizes and presents it humorously.
A year ago, how would I have developed something like this in just five minutes? The answer is simple: I wouldn’t have. It would have taken five days or even a week. It’s groundbreaking that not only can GPTs be created with a prompt, but the fine-tuning, naming, and avatar creation of the GPT itself also occurs through conversation, with the interface providing assistance and allowing for editing and refinements afterward!
Here are some GPTs that I’ve “created,” which only work with a ChatGPT Plus subscription:
- Lord Weatherby: He loves to chat about the weather. Always well-prepared, he responds based on the questioner’s language and adjusts the location and units accordingly until we ask for something else. He typically reviews data from multiple websites if you ask about the weather for the coming days, and he has a unique English sense of humor.
- Captain Data Beard: A wily old fox, the devil of data lakes and seas. He even draws diagrams as if they were old maps! 😀
- Queen of Hearts: Inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
- Santa Claus: Shares sweet stories with kids and secretly plays into the parents’ hands: no need to write a letter; he extracts the info! :)
- Word Whisperer: Offers translation alternatives and explanations.
There may already be a GPT Store (this was also my next idea), though I miss the evaluation feature.
