Sentradel’s autonomous turret has just lobbed a rather clever spanner into the works of future pest control. That is, of course, if your ‘pests’ happen to be multi-rotor drones hell-bent on delivering decidedly unwelcome packages. This piece of kit, a true marvel of autonomous engineering, brilliantly detects, tracks, and then, with a satisfying digital thud, engages these aerial nuisances. It’s a positively smashing, not to mention fiscally prudent, solution to the rather vexing problem of a mere $500 drone making mincemeat of multi-million dollar hardware. Because, as the old adage goes, or at least as the first rule of robot-on-drone warfare now dictates: the house always wins.
