Magenta Robotics’ new GT5 concept appears to be navigating a bit of a genre-defying identity crisis, hybridising the frame of a quadruped with the slick efficiency of wheels and a pair of utilitarian arms. This ‘mobile manipulation platform’ glides across flat surfaces with the hushed poise of a mechanical butler from the uncanny valley. We’re not entirely sure whether to marvel at its multi-modal locomotion or simply ask it to fetch our slippers, but either way, the queue at the Jobcentre for hospitality staff just got a little bit longer.
